This review is from: Gosford Park [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
Sadly, I haven't been able to watch this as yet, as the DVD has no subtitles, and my family needs them. It's a shame, because it's ideal Sunday night viewing after Midsomer - or so I've been told!It does state it in the product description above, but generally you do not expect DVDs without a subtitle track these days! yes I too need subtitles, it really annoys me that all these studios make these DVD's and get them into the shops as quick as possible to make money but with no consideration for the hard of hearing, I and my friends would buy many more if only they were subtitled

I don't need subtitles, but I often use them because I do much of my DVD watching when my husband is in bed late at night (I'm a bit more of a night owl than he is!) and having the subtitles on enables me to turn the sound down lower than I'd otherwise need, so I don't disturb him. Not to mention that just every now and then I find the American accent needs the help or I miss out on the odd, vital word or phrase. For both these reasons, I find the lack of subtitles on a DVD in this modern age to be absolutely unforgiveable.

And this is a film that needs subtitles; I find the sound quality really poor.
