Great film, shame about the DVD,
This review is from: Existenz [DVD] (DVD)
I love this thought-provoking film, with its plot full of twists and turns from the imaginative mind of David Cronenberg, who is also one of the few directors with the skill to bring them successfully to the screen. Add to this two early performances from the great Jude Law and Jennifer Jason Leigh, and you have a film which rewards perseverance (more than one reviewer here remarks how he found it hard to get into the film the first time of watching), and you'll find you want to watch it again.
Shame, then, that this re-release by Momentum in 2002 of the original DVD still lacks a quality transfer, and isn't even (despite the claim on the box) anamorphic, but only letter-box in format. I'm still waiting for a worthy release of this unique film. So, no 4- or 5-star award from me, but definitely 3 stars for the film alone.

I would have bought this until I read your review. This film deserves a decent dvd, not to mention blu ray, release. Non-anamorphic dvds are not acceptable, in my opinion.
