Reasonably nice - over-produced?,

This is an up-tempo jazzy album by a French artist produced in California via the 'Sellaband' business model, where fans invest the money to have an artist professionally recorded.
Regrettably, what you get is exactly what you would expect from this process. All the French-ness seems to have been squeezed out of T-Ka's album, which is immaculately perfect in a very Californian, but very un-European, way. You can't fault the flawless production at any point. But, equally, once the band has filled up the space, there is nowhere left for T-Ka's personality and unique voice to come through. It sounds -- and this is a terrible thing to say and I wish I didn't have to say it -- a little as though the backing vocals have been promoted to the main voice, without a comparable investment in expression.
I've never seen T-Ka live, but I bet she's brilliant. Strip away the over-rich backing, and let the Gallic verve come through, and I think you would have something which would set the spine tingling. As it is, the CD is probably best destined for restaurant and airport play.
The lesson: not everything is improved by over-polishing.
