1.0 out of 5 stars Bluffer Ellie Does It Again, 24 Dec. 2010
This review is from: Your Song (MP3 Download)
Just awful. How do talentless 'singers' like this beat their talented peers and get the contracts so undeserving. This is badly sung. No expressive feeling, a simper-by-numbers effort and the worst rendition of a song that was actually mastered by ... of all people .. Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge. Please. No more Ellie. If I wanted to hear a cat wailing I'd've asked our Tiddles to oblige ... :-(

Batman says:
Why? He took it out so he would not have to listen to the song!

Ha ha! Good ... and accurate .... call!
Sadly ... my age has prevailed to my disadvantage again ... when you've heard the original then hear it murdered like 'Oor Ellie' has done .. its painful to the ears ...

If you're younger .. and most people are compared to me .. you'll be blissfully ignorant of how it was meant to be sung.

The ironic thing is that Elton John who wrote the damned thing ... gave the second best version ... AFTER Ewan McGregor!. And he's a blimmin' actor!.

I blame Simon Cowell ... autotuning and ... something else probably for the decline of music since the Nineties ... and on that bombshell .. Bah humbug! And Happy New Year!
