As I have just bought my first ever Mac, a Mac mini - which by the way is amazing - I was delighted to be given a chance to read, digest and review this book. First of all I have to say that I really enjoy the style of writing. Bob LeVitus has a way of making something that could be quite daunting, into an easy and understandable read. (Like so many others, I have been a Windows person for many years, ever since Windows 3 in fact and over the years have seen Windows grow and grow - also like so many others I have seen and experienced the rapid slowing down that can occur with Windows over time, not so the Mac.) This book gives an insight into how to understand and use the latest incarnation of Apple's operating system Mountain Lion, in such a straightforward way that it immediately makes you think that Mountain Lion is as simple to use as the book - and it is. Like so many things, it is simple when you know the answer, certainly the 'Mac' way comes under that heading. From basic setting up of your Mac to adding those special touches, it is all here and very easy to understand.
If you are seriously thinking of the move from a PC to a Mac, then this is a great place to start. This well written and often amusing book will help you on your way.
To simplify then, if you have Mountain Lion and you want to know what it does and how to do it, look no further - especially at this price.
