Great 2D action platform with beat em up mechanics,
This review is from: Naruto Powerful Shippuden (Nintendo 3DS) (Video Game)
Unlike the serious Naruto Shippuden anime, this is based on the Rock Lee spinoff manga/anime. While it does focus on the Shippuden storyline it does so in the most humorous way possible. You have characters acting out of character, breaking the fourth wall and dressing in the most absurd costumes. There is a heavy emphasis on Rock Lee and his team but Naruto and Team 7 also make an appearance along with the other Konoha Genin and Teachers.
Most of the levels involve defeating all the enemies, there are also race-type levels and puzzle ones which require specific items. There are bosses too including Orochimaru, Deidara, Gai and Kisame. You can level up your characters by earning experience and you're able to redistribute XP at will. There are two storymodes for Lee and Naruto which you go back and forth between in order to get all the unlock keys.
While there is no co-op or versus mode there is a good amount of variety in this game. While the other Naruto games on DS have been hit or miss, this one is awesome and is well balanced. Definitely worth getting if you're a big Naruto fan or you like beat em up games.
