A insightful view on A-Level Chemistry,
This review is from: Advanced Chemistry: An Enquiry-based Approach (Paperback)My first comment about this book is that it has been written by a man that knows how to communicate A-Level Chemistry in a manner that makes you feel he is standing in front of you chatting to you with a Black Board and Chalk and you can follow him through every step he takes. I will admit that as a reference material, the book has its flaws. Its a fantastic commentary on the subject but the finer details can be difficult to pick out.
Its humourous references help to break up the larger blocks of prose and some sections read much better than others (no doubt due to possessing a speciality in Physical Chemistry as apposed to Organic), but is an invaluable source regardless.
I would recommend this book to the far more natural chemist who can wade through the chapters without waning in their attention but they will gain a wealth of understanding from this text that cannot be matched by more modern texts.
A personal favourite.
