4.0 out of 5 stars Consisely tells you how to make your marketing work, 20 Nov 2010
This review is from: The Brand Bucket: Make Your Marketing Work (Paperback)
The internet and consumers have changed the way marketing works. But so few marketing books have acknowledged and embraced these changes - that was until I read this book.

Initially the book explains the concepts of how marketing has changed. Similar to titles by Seth Godin, it explains how big advertising budgets and traditonal marketing methods are dead. Then the book concisely explains the central tennants of effective marketing giving a simple but powerful analogy of a bucket. Whilst the 'bucket' analogy isn't particularly sexy, I was surprised how relevant it was to everyday business.

Die hard, old school marketing bods will find this book a challenge to their convetional wisdom. But if you want to learn what really works and earn money from marketing rather than just spending it this book is a great investment.

This a great book so far. Once read my review will follow. I am very aware that parts of my proposition are traditional, whereas other parts of Robert Murray Willlis is breaking new territory. Marketing is an essential part of this and the Value Proposition is my focus. So Barnaby's chapter 11, matching the medium to the message, is vital. I am also reading Crush it by Gary Vaynerchuck and Lance Armstrongs - It's not about the Bike. I don't jump chapters so Chapter 11 will take it's turn.
