Another excellent read from Ms Mina,
This review is from: The Dead Hour (Paddy Meehan 2) (Paperback)
The second instalment of Paddy Meehan maintains the high standard of the first book.
Paddy is still a very likeable and believable character. She is still trying to prove herself in the newsroom and the relationships she develops with some of her colleagues are quite touching but always realistic. Her anguish over the consequences of revealing the £50 bribe were real and convincing but remaining true to her character there was never any doubt that she would try to conceal it from the police. Her family interaction remains a core part of her life - and I loved the unexpected path Mary Ann seems destined to take. And relationships develop.....
The main crime plot is interesting and her interaction with the decent police man trying to deal with corrupt colleagues is well done. One slight niggle would be that it falls into the cliche of an untouchable Mr Big, but maybe that's for next time. I'll find out soon as that's next on my reading list.
