A gentle read, not a DIY manual,
This review is from: The Gentle Art of Domesticity (Hardcover)I adored this book. In fact I'm still reading it. This is a lazy sunday afternoon book that you want to indulge yourself. I pick it up and put it down and just flick through the pictures or just read a chapter out of order if I fancy.
It is full of wonderful colouful pictures of snuggly quilts and socks that makes me a) want to go make them and b) snuggle in them whilst reading this book.
A lot of people are disapointed by the lack of instruction in the book but I get bored with instruction and lust after beautiful inspirational pictures and musings. I would save this book from a housefire!!

What an oddly unkind comment, both on the review and the book. It seems that the negative reviewers are really looking for more of an instructional book, whereas this is more of a "lifestyle" book. Fair enough to give the book a poor review if you are able to describe why it disappointed you, but why just sneer at someone else's description of their enjoyment of the book?
