The Simpsons best season!,
This review is from: The Simpsons: Complete Season 4 [DVD] (DVD)
The Simpsons Season 4 is by far the best of the show. Every episode is down right hilarious and unique in its own way. The plots are strong, theres more character development, the jokes come by faster and funnier, and the pop culture references are superbly written. Although the following seasons were excellent season 4 is the high point of TV comedy.
There's the classic episodes considered the best such as 'Last Exit To Springfield' which i think is the best episode and 'Marge VS Monorail' which has great line after great line. While there's many underrated gems like 'Duffless', 'The Front' and 'Marge In Chains'. Theres some superb episodes based on relationships that show the more emotional pull of the show while still being really funny like 'New Kid On The Block' based on Bart's crush on an older girl, Homer's Triple Bypass' shows the children's love of their father, 'Brother From The Same Planet' has Bart and Homer's relationship strained and 'I Love Lisa' dealing with Lisa and Ralph.
There's plenty of episodes that develop other characters like 'Selma's Choice', who can forget the sandwich and Duff gardens, which is bittersweet as well as being laugh out loud funny. 'Homer The Heretic', 'Marge Gets A Job' and 'Whacking Day' are all great episodes. While the flashback episodes, which I normally dislike, are really well done. 'So It's Come To This: A Simpsons Clip Show' is very funny.
Overall this is the peak of TV comedy and animation and if your a fan then a must have.
