Too many English cover songs.,
This review is from: Aumakua (Audio CD)
Amy Hanaiali`i Gilliom is a beautiful falsetto singer from Maui.
Infact one of my favourite Hawai`ian singers. So it is extremely
rare that I am writing a negative review about one of her CD releases.
Her CDs "Generation Hawai`i" (5 Stars), "Pu`uhonua" (5 Stars),
"Hawai`ian Tradition" (5 Stars) and "Contemporary Hawai`ian" (5 Stars).
I would highly recommend to anyone who loved Hawai`i and gorgeous
Hawai`ian Contemporary, Hawai`ian traditional hula mele and tropical
Hawai`ian/English hapa haole songs.
But "`Aumaka" CD (3 Stars) is very disappointing as it just has too
many old English song covers on it.
When Hawai`ian artists are low on their own contemporary Hawai`ian
songs or traditional hula mele they sometimes use old English song
covers as fillers. But this ruins the overall feel of an Hawai`ian music CD.
True Hawai`ian music fans buy Hawai`ian music CDs to hear Hawai`ian music.
NOT covers of boring old English songs.
Save them for an exclusively English covers CD.
