What have TOM TOM done,
This review is from: TOMTOM 1FA4.002.04 GO 400 EU IN - ( GPS DEVICES) (Electronics)
The concept is fine, tell it where you want to go and it does the rest. However, it does not mention that all of the customisable features of previous tom toms have been stripped out.
It does not even tell you how long your journey will take, it just gives an arrival time. My main issue is the software is full of basic bugs, the buttons top left and right for moving back one screen or returning to the main screen do not always appear. This leaves you stuck on a screen with no option but to go forward until randomly the buttons reappear. Then on the main screen the buttons are stuck on, obscuring the arrival time ! It is very poor. It randomly restarts itself, sound is sometimes off, you cannot tell if the bluetooth connection is working, if there are no delays on your route or no connection to the phone !

Hi sensational, thank you for taking the time to write this review. You are correct, there a significant number of things that were present on previous devices that are not present on the new GO series units. We have already added many of these features into the GO series User Interface based on customer feedback, and will continue to do this. I would recommend performing an update check for your device to ensure it has the latest operating software installed as this will include all of the User Interface changes and may resolve many of your concerns.
Should you wish to discuss this further I would suggest contacting us directly through any of the channels listed in this link:

I have used tom tom for more years than I care to remember (originally on Ipaq with separate tethered gps), looking at the overall feedback it seems all the features I really found useful about their satnavs have been removed and replaced with glitzy/sparkly useless displays, I don't want to watch a movie I want an efficient, accurate, clear and flexible GPS navigator where I can add my own POI's etc.
I was looking for a new one to replace my ageing "Go live", it now looks like I will have to look elswhere.
