Barefoot running made comfortable,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: New Balance Men's Mt10bo2 Trainer (Apparel)
I've been using barefoot running shoes for around 6 months and the benefits have been considerable, especially to my right knee which has always been troublesome. However, being a little naive and macho to begin with I went for a zero drop New Balance Minimus Trail trainer which, although effective, put a little too much strain on my calves. In retrospect I know wish I'd started with these 4mm drop trainers which provide more support, a little more protection and are considerably more comfortable whilst still allowing me to benefit from reduced knee and hip strain. I'm now definitely a convert to barefoot running shoes and this version would be a fantastic trainer to start your Minimus odyssey.

i actually went the other way around when i (re)started running a couple of months ago and started with the Minimus shoes and later decided to try out the MR1400 wherein i started getting some right knee pain more frequently than using the Minimus. i agree that these are great shoes based on that experience could with the fact that they are very light and compact for travel packing. the reason i tried the MR1400's (or any non-barefoot shoes) is that i felt they could potentially be better for longer distances in excess of 5-10k. have you any comments on that?
