This review is from: 3-Year Kindle Protection Plan with Accident & Theft Cover by SquareTrade, UK customers only (Accessory)Why would anyone pay £21.99 for a two year warranty on a new product when the product only costs £89. Seems like a disproportionate cost to me!

Thank you for your feedback. £21.99 represents a quarter of the original purchase price and provides peace mind from both accidents and theft.

At first I would have agreed. But I have owned a Kindle Keyboard and had the screen fail, to be replaced by a Kindle Keyboard and had the screen fail again. Both times the support desks try to imply that I'd mistreated it in some way (when I haven't) and then when a year is up it's tough, go buy a new one. It's so useful though that stupid me did. The newer non-keyboard models do seem stronger, only time will tell though.
Once bitten twice shy. This insurance isn't necessarily overpriced - quite the opposite, have Squaretrade had an actuary look at the failure rate?
