Seriously, that person nailed the review for this game. And now it's less than a tenner, if you're the kind of person who thinks COD and Battlefield* are a load of old b****cks and hunger for a single player shooter that has some actual depth to it, look no further. This is a one-off, never to be repeated I suspect. One word of warning: stick with it, it only really "gets going" about half way through, but oh my, does it ever get going.
*(Apart from the multiplayer, natch).
In case you missed it, here's Nelly's review again:
"You could be forgiven for thinking this is just another CoD/Battlefield clone. You couldn't be more wrong. In fact, it's a savage critique of the modern war shooter genre.
Before I go any further, however, I should say that this game is not fun in any traditional sense. It's a drama, focussed on the exploration of post traumatic stress. Spec Ops forces you to look at how unreal modern war shooters really are, and delights in telling you how pathetic you are for believing that being an armchair soldier makes you a badass."
