This review is from: Doctor Who - The Black Guardian Trilogy: Mawdryn Undead / Terminus / Enlightenment [DVD] (DVD)
If you leave aside the obvious snag (Terminus) this is a very good collection of DVDs. The snag is flanked by two very strong stories, both have solid casts and Davison is magnificent (especially in Enlightenment). The only problem I have with the stories is the fact that Nyssa had to depart in such a forgettable story. The extras are fairly good as well, with Enlightenment benefitting particularly on this score. Bearing in mind that Terminus is compulsory with this collection, I wouldn't suggest that this is an absolute must; and if you are unsure about Davison's era then I'd recommend Caves or Earthshock to start with. However, this collection, if not a "Classic", is only just below that level and is definately worth looking at.
