mediocrity / no frills,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Roman Silver Coins: A Price Guide (Paperback)
No photographs !! the ilustrations are pretty ameteurish as well although i can see fine detail would be distracting/not neccessary but sometimes you cannot definitely match a coin on e bay with the illustration. Also many roman coins on e bay do not appear here !!! Another gripe is no sizes are given, on the positive side there is an alphabetical index of emporers with a number (s) for easy finding. a no frills book.

C. H. Perkins says:
They are shown at actual size, although real ones obviously vary a bit in size especially after a lot of use. There are other books on Roman Silver coins, e.g. those 3 volumes for £25 each with no price data. This is about £6, and very useful.

The beauty of these guides is their simplicity. I have access to all the RIC volumes but I still use these little guides. If you want to see every coin you are likely to come across, Wildwinds.com is the place to look.
