This review is from: TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition 2 EU Sat Nav (Electronics)
This is the second Tom Tom I have bought and whilst Tom Tom have made it slimmer and simplified the menu, it will be my last for the very reason that they have removed the facility to search for a location using the full postcode; which if you live in a rural location (like I do) is the most important feature, as many of the roads do not have names. This is not mentioned in the publicity material for the device.
To enable this feature you need to contact Tom Tom support who will "guide" you to downloading the software to enable this facility to work. After two unsuccessful attempts and ten days of corresponding, I am still no further along in getting the facility to work. I am still baffled as to why the facility was removed, when they updated the device and have not had a response as to why it has been removed.
Unless you are happy to spend considerable time fiddling about downloading and unzipping files (which is the only way it can be "corrected"), I recommend that you research other Sat Nav devices.
