A "warts and all" great read about a music legend,

This review is from: Under a Hoodoo Moon: The Life of Dr John the Night Tripper (Paperback)
Dr John is one of the founders of New Orleans Jazz/Funk/Blues. If it makes a noise then he can play it. This book chronicles his early life right up to present day, it is full of great anecdotes about the music industry and Dr John's heroes like Professor Longhair, Etta James, Eric Clapton amongst others
The man depicts himself as more of an "Anti-Hero", he has done lots of things he isn't proud of but not ashamed either, colourful would be one way of describing the parts of his life he can remember, the rest of it disappears in a haze of drugs, alcohol and endless jamming sessions!
All in all a great read for any lover of Dr Johns music and I would recommend it to someone that has never heard of Dr John purely because of the stories, background and context given on the whole music industry by a man who has spent the last 50 years working in it.
