An album/band I might never have discovered,
This review is from: Relationship Of Command (Audio CD)
I consider myself both a knowledgable and seasoned music fan yet am ashamed to admit that prior to a chance conversation a few weeks ago I had never even heard of this fantantic (and now sadly defunct band). Anyway the conversation in question related to the The Mars Volta of whom I had developed a passing curiousity. The friend with whom I was conversing could not find his copy of Deloused in the Crematorium so lent me this insted. Initially I was sceptical. I needn't have been. Relationship of Command is quite simply one of the best albums I have ever heard. It is not even a 'grower'. It's raw yet tuneful aggression gripped me from the outset and left me searching for repeat come its conclusion. My personal favorite is Rolerdex Propaganda (gotta love Iggy Pop's backing vocals). I have since returned my friends cd but only after my own copy fell through the letterbox. Having digested this masterpeice of modern music I am compelled to explore ATDI's back catologue, most of which is en-route as I type. The majority of those reading this will no doubt already own this stunning album but for any contemplating a purchase I urge you do so and you will never regret it.
