Doesn't foul anything very good performance, no complaints,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 - 160 Watts Twin-Tower Heatsink CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD - 120mm PWM Fan - 4 Double-Sided Heatpipes - Easy Installation (Personal Computers)
I bought this to replace an Antec Kuhler which failed after relatively little use.
The freezer Xtreme was easy to fit with the motherboard in situ but needs the use of a magnetic screwdriver, and another hand would have made it easier..
The cooler was fitted to an ASUSP8Z77-V Pro Mb, fitted with an i5, socket 1155 processor (no overclock) and did not foul any components on the Mb. It did not project over the memory slots.
The case was an In Win Midi Tower (with cut-out for CPU socket, rear, access) and there was approx. 1cm clearance width wise. All expansion card slots are clear. The cooler leave clearance in the case for good air circulation.
The CPU temp is 34deg C ish low use at 700Hz fan speed with 3 case fans running at 600Hx, so am happy.
Seems to rise to 42 deg at similar speed with moderate CPU usage, backup and medium speed animation running, after 1hr.
Air cooling is probably a better option, as the greater thermal mass slows, and limits, the temp rise in event of fan failure. This fan is not noisy but it is obvious when it's fan in not running, which is not a bad thing.
I am, so far, very happy with this cooler. Good price/performance and the mid heatsink fan layout means that cables can't interfere with it.
Can't see how they could improve it.
