2.0 out of 5 stars Cannot read FT or The Economist, 24 Dec. 2012
By
This review is from: Kindle Fire HD 7", Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, 16 GB - Includes Special Offers [Previous Generation] (Electronics)
I previously used my Kindle for reading the Financial Times and my iPad for the Economist. Was hugely excited that I will be able to use the Fire HD for both for a better reading experience. It turns out Kindle Fire does not have apps for either of these. The funny part is Amazon US DOES have a have a app for FT - UK edition on Fire HD - BUT IN THE US!!!

Amazon, if you are reading this...it is unbelievable that you are trying to position the Fire HD as a mainstay tablet, without having mainstay newspapers and magazines available!! Disappointed!

You should blame Pearson PLC (owner of the FT) and the Economist Group for not developing the apps and not Amazon for not providing them. If they had been developed, you can be sure that they would have been available for download at Amazon.
