4.0 out of 5 stars A huge improvement and a brilliant series!, 2 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Doctor Who: The Complete 6th Series - Limited Edition (with 4 Art Cards) [Blu-ray] [Region Free] (Blu-ray)
I gave the last series just one star as I felt it was becoming infantile and tedious, but what a turnaround in this series! The Christmas special was disappointing yet again, but the series proper was excellent with strong, compelling stories, great effects and intruiging character development. Matt Smith came into his own in this series and Amy was a lot easier to stomach than the previous series. Stars of the show, however were Rory with very witty asides and a greater action role - and best of all, River Song, who was simply wonderful to watch in every scene. If you were disappointed with the last series and tempted to give up (as I was) - don't! The series is back on track and possibly stronger than ever. I hope River is back again next season and the series continues with inventive and captivating stories.

Excellent series, as they all have been since 2005 in my opinion. Also,Amy has always been more than easy to "stomach" as far as I'm concerned. She is by far the best companion ever.

Film Buff says:
I agree about Amy. Although it's a decent series there are a few duff episodes. Series 5 is the best series of Who, new or old IMO.
