Does what it says, and well enough,
This review is from: Belkin Wireless Skype Handset (Electronics)
I have been using this little Belkin Skype phone for a few days now. It was incredibly easy to setup and I have my wirless router set-up with WPA security and it was easy even with the router security. I haven't had any problems with the phone re-connecting to the router when I turn it back on, it takes about 20 seconds for it to find, sign-in to the wireless network and finally sign-in to your Skype account which isn't bad. I do hear that sound every once in a while that means it has lost the connection to the wireless router but it picks it up again straight away and it may be my fault anyway as I have my router set to renew the IP address quite frequently. One pleasant surprise is the range of this phone, I was able to walk all the way down my street and it still didn't loose its connection and in fact it has found a wireless network from one of my neighbors that I never knew about since neither of my wireless computers had ever picked it up before. My only negative comments would be on the fact that there isn't a dock to charge it, although it looks like they thought about releasing one as there are charging contacts on the bottom of the phone so maybe in the future there will be a dock as an optional extra. My second complaint would be the ringtones, they are not terrible but I just like a normal phone sound and finally I would like the battery to last a little longer although mine isn't anywhere near as bad as other people have commented on - I get about 24 hours standby time. A great device if you use Skype-in/Skype-Out, I have a US phone number and UK phone number both coming through to the same phone and with it being so cheap to call out, I just love this little device and I know I wouldn't of used Skype nearly so much if I had to be next to my Mac/pc to make calls.
