Smll and light. Reasonable optical quality.,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nikon AF NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8D Lens (Electronics)
Advantages are it's small and light. There's little distortion but ultimate sharpness is not up to the new Nikon lenses such as 24-70, 14-24, or even 16-35. Useful to keep in the bag, though.

I actually find this lens sharper at 24mm than the 24-70 and the 12-24 for the sake of £700 for the former and £400 for the latter i recommend one of these and take a few steps forward or back?

J. M. Smethills says:
This 24mm Prime is sharper at 24mm than the 14-24mm ultra wide zoom. It's also about 1/3 of the weight and price. If you need a zoom and want to go below 24mm then obviously this is not for you. You will not regret purchase for sharpness provided your technique is sound.

Yes, it's not a bad lens for the price at all. Of course, the new 28mm 1.8 is a lot sharper...
