This review is from: Heavy Weather Sailing (Hardcover)
This is a beautiful book, crammed with information.
It certainly seems a comprehensive guide to me, presenting a wealth of information ..... science [eg hull-design, anatomy of waves, etc], review of equipment [eg drogues, deck tackle, etc], boat-preparation [for heavy weather], technique [eg storm-sails, setting para-anchor, etc], real-life accounts - often with awesome accompanying images - from storm-survivors & from rescuers [eg Queen's birthday storm, Sidney-Hobart race, etc], along with commentary along the lines of 'what have we learned'. There's loads and loads and loads more.
A really useful reference, I've already learned loads.
Along with the Pardey's 'Storm Tactics', Heavy weather sailing is one of those books that you hope you will never really need, but is full of well thought-out tips - any one of which might one day prove to be a life-saver.
