A Fascinating Romance,
This review is from: His Leading Lady (Kindle Edition)
Lora Harper has finally got her big break - the lead in a West End musical. But at the eleventh hour, just when she is needed for publicity appearances, she disappears. Her twin sister, Jess, determined to make sure that she doesn't lose her big chance, agrees to impersonate her for a few days. Little does she know what she is letting herself in for. Her quiet life is turned upside down as she steps into the celebrity role and finds herself falling in love with the handsome but arrogant director. She suspects he is using her as a substitute for her sister in more ways than one, but is unable to help herself. What will happen when Lora returns? If Lora returns........
I really enjoyed this story. Ms Martin uses clear, uncluttered prose which is a pleasure to read, her characters are interesting and the plot is unusual. Her description of the theatre seems absolutely authentic and I suspect she had some real experience to call upon.
The mystery surrounding Lora's disappearance keeps the suspense high throughout and there are several surprise twists in the plot, one of which could spell disaster for Jess.
All of which adds up to a very satisfying read.
