The great North Marathon,

This review is from: Great North Road (Kindle Edition)
Fascinating ideas, incredible grip on technology, passages of excruciatingly unnecessary description. With some books you get the distinct impression that the author is fulfilling a word count. Good science fiction will always conjure up absorbing visions of the future, but combine that with a yawn making murder investigation on earth, a mind numbingly tedious journey through terrain which seems to warrant continual, albeit wordsmithian outpouring and a plot that seems to need constant and incredible manipulation to make it viable and you have a page turner that leaves you unable to abandon it, but screaming for it to finish.
Read it if you have great swathes of unallocated existenz.

I was trying to put into words how I feel about Hamilton's writing, and you nailed it. Could not agree more.
