4.0 out of 5 stars Do not trust reviews!, 18 Aug 2009
This review is from: Under the Eagle (Paperback)
OK, so this book has both 5 star and 1 star reviews. So which do you trust?

I have read most of Bernard Cromwell's Sharpe and Starbuck books which are by far some of the most excellent books ever written. To put this in the same category as them would be absurd. However, I have to admit I liked many aspects of this book.... even the modern day profanity. Sure the story is not amazingly deep but it is entertaining and even caused a certain amount of suspense. I guess it helped that I got a second hand copy for pittance though.

Overall a nice book to read on a sunny afternoon in the garden, then pass on to your mates! Try reading David Gemmel's series on Troy, their simply brilliant!
