Powerful but poor,
This review is from: Trust Oxxtron 1300VA Management UPS (Accessory)
100GBP is a very good price for a 1300VA UPS (compared to APC), and the battery will power a standard desktop for about 15 minutes.
The management software is useless. You cannot see the battery level or voltages etc, just a picture that changes if the mains power fails.
The auto-shutdown feature did not work for me either (Windows 7 or Server 2008R2) - and there are no updates available from the manufacturer.
The UPS is not managed by Windows.
Unfortunately, it looks like I received a faulty unit, so instead of protecting my computer from power problems, it killed mine (PSU, motherboard, 2 HDDs and one of the RAM chips fried, but the rest still works). So I am currently waiting to get the issue resolved with Trust (who do not have a telephone number for contact) to get them to reimburse me for equipment damage (which this product covers up to 20,000EUR) - hopefully they pay out due to faulty equipment too. Since all was working fine until 48 hours after I started using the UPS (including a test), I can only put this failure down to the Trust UPS.
Once this is all over, I shall be returning this for a refund, and purchasing an APC product, which although expensive, always have very good reviews.
