This review is from: Slave To The Rhythm (Audio CD)
As so often, the song most associated with the artist has the least to do with her...
Say Grace and people think 'Slave to the Rhythm'... But this was just before her career sadly faltered. She wanted out of Island but they insisted on another single so she thrashed out this vocal and promptly disappeared. Along came Horn and Lipson to eke out a whole album's worth, produce one of the great dance albums of the 80's - and indulge their burgeoning egos at Miss Jones' expense.
If you love 80's pop, get this; if you love Miss Jones, stick to the definitive version only - or one of those stunning 'Island Trilogy' epics.
