Amazing how to see that so many people think this book is good - it struggles to be 'okay'...,

Two people who meet on the evening of their graduation, suddenly becoming best friends for 20 years? Ok, I was prepared to go with that - but the two characters described would never have had the relationship the author wants us to believe, and this is the books main flaw... 'Spoilt posh boy' Dex and his best mate 'working class northerner' Em have next to nothing in common... You really have to leave reality on the door step to read this, as it plays out like a bargain basement Richard Curtis film... If you think that there is any value in that sort of writing, you are in for a romp! If, like me, you need to be able to believe in or at least care about the characters in the books you read, leave this one on the shelf...
