Good for back-ups,
This review is from: Drobo DR04DD30 4-Bay FireWire 800/USB 2.0 DAS Enclosure (Personal Computers)
I've had a Drobo for over a year now because I'm paranoid about losing my digital photos and the Drobo helps by having some redundancy built in. I've not had any issues with the device itself but have had a disk failure and adding a replacement disk was painless. It did take quite a while to re-index the files to include the 2TB disk (about 48 hours) but all files were intact. Mine came with the Droboshare network device which after a few months of use I gave up on finding it was easier to share files via disk shares. I've not experienced any issues with file sizes or watching videos stored on it using USB or the Droboshare (gigabit Ethernet).
One thing you should never do is rely on a single back up medium or device. You should have multiple copies and not just in one location either.
