4.0 out of 5 stars Death to Striker!!!, 11 Aug 2005
This review is from: Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2) (Video Game)
Firstly, the good news. This game rocks so much you can almost feel the vibrations!
Burnout's latest installment is faster, sleeker and so much better in general than its already class predecessors. The main new feature is being able to "takedown" (must be said in an American accent) your rivals by nudging, scraping and suicidally barging into them and knocking them into anything that takes your fancy. However, they often have the same intention so tuning down your gung-ho steak is needed if you want to do well. The legendary "crash mode" is back and more explosive than ever. With the introduction of carefully positioned multipliers and such like, it is evolving into a tactical melee of explosive goodness! And there is no shortage of unlockable cars, tracks crash maps etc, to keep you amused for millennia and millennia.
However, the bad news. EA have had their fiendish way with it and over-Americanised it all. The music ranges from some top British Indie up-and-coming to the American appropriately-titled F-Ups. And then there's Striker.
He's your exhaggeration-friendly personal DJ who couldn't make a Peter Kaye fan laugh, and he perpetually haunts you with his infinite list of bizarre and pointless rants. Thank God you can take out your anger on your rivals!!!
