"Say you miss me, say it like you mean it",
This review is from: A Different Kind Of Truth (Audio CD)
Oh yeah I missed you guys !
After so long, I was just hoping this album didn't suck big time and when I first heard Tattoo I thought my worse nightmares had been realised. I really don't like Tattoo ! So for the sake of this review, let's just assume it's not on the album.
This album is good (actually it's very good) if you like the DLR/VH period then this album sounds like a natural progression from 1984 which more than makes sense if it's true that a few of the songs were created from demo's written during their early years.
Note: If you didn't like DLR/VH you probably are not going to like this one, but give it a try, you never know :).
Dave's back in fun mood with fun lyrics and diamond Dave delivery. Eddie's guitar is excellent ! Alex can still fire out some great double bass drum thunder and (I hate to say this) but I didn't even miss Michael Anthony on bass (sorry Michael).
So is this a perfect album ? No, not quite. There are no really stand out tracks that fall into the "classic" category. However this said (apart from Tattoo as we're not including it in this review :)) there's no bad songs on this album either.
Worth the wait ? Hell yeah ! Stay frosty.
