Getting a little too obvious and cocky by Season 3......,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Blue Bloods - Season 3 [DVD] (DVD)
The first series was very good and introduced the characters nicely, with some strong storylines. The second continued with the strong storylines but started to delve into the family lives a little too deep, sometimes at the expense of the storylines. By the third season, things have started become a little more soap-opera. Tom Selleck is becoming a little ridiculous as the Police Commissioner who, not content just to take on the Mayor (his boss), is now preaching on everything from freedom of speech to asylum seekers and taking on all-comers. Over the three seasons he now seems to have become the most powerful man in the US and could quite easily to the President's job in his spare time. Add to this a daughter who seems to be only person doing any work in the DA's office and a detective son who seems to get assigned to, and solves, every murder case in New York and you can see that this series is rapidly running out of ideas. Lazy writing is turning a once-good series into a slowly-dying soap opera.
