Good tomatoes, even at only four per tin,

First off, these tomatoes have a nice taste and have been cooked long enough to be nice and soft. The juice/sauce has a good texture too, and the inclusion of citric acid seems to have helped keep it all fresh and a good-looking red. So I'm pretty pleased on quality. Content-wise I'm a little unsure. Each can appears to carry four tomatoes. I compared this to a supermarket 'own brand' organic product which wasn't too expensive. Each claimed to have the same amount of dry matter, yet the supermarket organic had five or six tomatoes which were only slightly smaller on average than the Cirio tomatoes, and thus my comparison product appeared to have more tomato content per tin -- despite similar claims for dry weight. The organic comparison product had just the tomatoes and juice as ingredients, which without citric acid or similar didn't quite help retain the same red colour, and they perhaps didn't quite match the taste of the Cirio tomatoes and were rather firmer, which perhaps suggests skimping on cooking time. Yes I'd rather have organic, but in this particular comparison the Cirio won on taste and texture -- and also for making sauces as they break down quite easily. My only reservation is the four tomatoes per tin, good as they are, which mkes one wonder if the price is as good value as might appear (and despite claims on the tin for dry weight contradicting how it looks to me). I'd certainly try these because they're good tomatoes and not too dear, and then you can compare the contents to experiences of other brands to see if you think the contents match up in a way that makes value.
UPDATE: 5 tomatoes of reasonable size in the last two tins. Things are looking up!
