This compilation is the first BoS album I bought but certainly not the last one. Back in the 80's on both sides of the Atlantic various bands tried punk/hard core esthetics with pop sensibilities. They used different proportions of both ingredients. Band of Susans was one of those bands (together with Husker Du, My Bloody Valentine and others), one that used big amounts of guitar noise but as this compilation proves it is all listenable.
The double album consists of one cd with songs and one with instrumentals. Surprisingly all are good and although tend to be lengthy, do not get boring. If you want to find the missing link between Melvins, Helmet and Kyuss look no further. By the way Page Hamilton out of Helmet was a member!
