5.0 out of 5 stars Huawei E5332 MiFi, 24 July 2013
By
This review is from: Huawei E5332 Unlocked Mobile Wi-Fi Modem (Accessory)
Bought this to use with a Spanish sim while on holiday in Majorca. Much cheaper to use a local sim than use roaming on your own phone. Easy to set up, secure & you can have upto 8 devices connected at any one time. You will need to the carrier specific APN settings for the sim card provider you intend to use in the MiFi.
Use this link for a list of APN settings for Spain only

http://www.simcardspain.es/en/article/10-apn-settings-of-spanish-operators-for-configure-the-smartphone-usb-modems-3g-mobile-internet-?ps_full_site=1

MiFi also cheaper way of connecting any WiFi only iPad to the Internet. Look up giffgaff.com for cheap data only sim deals.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the review!

Can you remember a good Spanish provider for data? Do you know if they've got some SIM cards like we've got in the UK where you can get a pretty good amount of MB per 3months or per year?

Cheers!

I spoke to an English guy working in a phone shop on Majorca who stated that "There are no real cheap deals compared to the UK in Spain". He did say however that you get better deals from having a contact sim, as you do I'm the UK.
There's no problem buying a local sim when you get to Spain. All you need is your passport as ID. It's something to do with anti terrorism laws. Sorry I can't be of any more help, I had to do a lot of Internet searching to find my info. Might be worth googling for an "English ex-pat forum" to get more info.

Regards

Thank you so much for your post. We bought an Orange sim for €15 with 1.5GB for 30 days plus 1000 texts. It was simple using the link you provided to change the APN to orangeworld, User to orange and Password to orange. It was so simple we didn't think it'd work but here I am typing this thank you message. :)

Thanks "I'm buying this device because you seem honest" - and you gave it the thumbs up in your review, so cheers!

Regarding, GiffGaff.com their DATA Plans look about the best value for the time being, can you let me know, what other carriers I could use too.?

Finally, "how easy is it really to set up and get going", considerinng the FACT the "device is in my shopping basket" ready for the checkout, and will be bought inside the next 5-10mins. - (any tips are appreciated) Thank-you.! David...

Hello, I'm looking at these reviews for exactly the same reason, we have an appt in Spain and you can only really get dongles on Spanish contracts, looking at Carrefour €18 per month, don't want to have to take a laptop out each time! Thought this might be a good solution, not sure how hard the APN change is though?

Hi,
We have one of these dongles and a contract SIM from Masmovil.
1G is 10€ & last 1 month, you can suspend the SIM when not in Spain.
I email them a few days before going out and then 3 day before end of month.
Be warned it is calendar months, so email them before 30th of the month.
The SIM cost 10€ to buy.
