This review is from: Secret Flotillas Vol II: Clandestine Sea Operations in the Western Mediterranean, North African & the Adriatic 1940-1944: 2 (Paperback)
This book, though only partly skimmed through for certain information, is one that shows the sort of work that the smaller vessels used by the military during WWII was so important to maintain at times some form of foothold and chain of communication links with the different HQ's.
The book also provides information as to how certain friendly forces working behind enemy lines were supplied and transported without the enemy sometimes realising as to what was going on in the territory they had invaded and controlled, or did they, as many 'Freedom Fighters' were provided with the equipment needed to wage war behind the accepted frontline, and this helped in keeping enemy forces on the alert in case they were the next in line to suffer a raid from a direction that was not expected.
I look forward to reading the book in more detail, along with its sister book on similar forces working on the northern coasts of France and neighbouring countries.
