Shadow not a problem for me.,
This review is from: Kindle Paperwhite, 6" High Resolution Display with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi [Previous Generation] (Electronics)
I had read all about the shadowing that people were getting on these kindles in the US and was a bit worried that it was going to bother me. Mine does have shadowing along the bottom but having read a few chapters I can see its really not something that will bother me and I am so much happier with this kindle than the Kindle Touch. I think anyone worry about the shadowing should just get one and try it and its easy to send back if you find it bothers you. I really think the majority of people will have no problems with it though.
The screen feels lovely, slightly textured and very responsive, much more so than the touch. The screen refresh is lovely and incredibly clear. I love it and am much happier with it than any previous kindle. I think the wake/sleep case will be great for it too once I can pick a colour.

It's not about the shadows...well it is also about it, but people understood quickly that those light effect are normal. The problem is with the variations of problems on the screen, pink hues, green blotches, bright spots etc. On the website it looks good but...some people may see them some people may not, and some units may be good others may be not, there's more than shadows on this paperwhite...
