Handy, good lookin' and well priced Leatherman,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)A different approach for Leatherman for this tool and the Sidekick. Instead of the mat finish steel they have went for a highly polished surface, rather like Victorinox tools. It looks good
On the outside there is a clip that is fixed with a screw and can therefore be removed if you like. It's a nice tight clip and the shiny surface doesn't seem to damage pocket material.
Turning the tool over there is a a combination straight / serated blade and a pair of scissors. Both can be deployed one handedand click securely into place, although the scissors on my Wingman always seem to need an extra nudge to get them to click into place and activate the spring loaded action. Both tools are sharp out of the box but the combi blade may be difficult to sharpen once blunt, because of the serations.
Opening up the tool there is another difference from the usual Leatherman fare - spring loaded pliers. The only other Leatherman tools that have this spring loaded main tool is the Squirt keychain range. I can't say that the spring loading adds anything to the tool but takes away nothing too so I am not complaining. The pliers are the usual excellent Leatherman standard, strong and precise.
Inside handle one is a flat head screwdriver and a flatened phillips head screwdriver. These are non - locking but do click nicely into their slip joints with a satisfying snap. They both work just nicely for the small jobs I've used it for.
In the other handle there is a can opener / bottle opener & wire stripper tool, a nail file with a smaller screwdriver at it's tip and a parcel opening hooked tool which looks like it would do the job no problem but I have always found it easier to flip out the knife and open any package with that rather than mess around getting this tool out.
I don't think the opened tool is that comfortable to hold when compared to the Wave or Charge, say, but this is at a lower price point and the build quality is still great. The multi-tool feels substantial in your handand is a great addition to your pocket.
Short warning: It's illegal to carry a lockable blade in the UK such as the one on this multitool without a very good reason.
