Powerful work tool,
This review is from: Hitachi G23SS 230 mm Angle Grinder 230V 1900W (DIY & Tools)
I had previously owned a Makita petrol disc cutter. It was big and heavy and rather too much for my needs.
I bought this because it was electric and seemed a reasonable size for cutting a few paving slabs here and there.
It has come in useful and I have had no problems with it. I do agree with some other comments in that it has a very aggressive start up, that can catch you off guard. You need to have a frim grip and be ready for the torque as it starts off at full speed. Once you get used to it, it is fairly easy to handle.
With the right blade It is well up to cutting concrete paving slabs. It is fairly heavy and that helps keep the tool stable. Still it is more manageable than my old Makita. You can get it out and start work right away without refuelling and emptying the tank, which is a problem if it is just a DIY requirement
It kicks up a lot of dust and you need protective gloves, mask and eye protection. It is not a tool for the faint hearted, but it is rugged. and has proved very useful. You can tackle all but the heaviest work with it.
I think it represents good value.
