1.0 out of 5 stars A terrible attempt to protect the official conspiracy, 11 Dec. 2013
This review is from: Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can't Stand Up to the Facts (Paperback)
I have watched, read and debated every topic on 9/11. I have looked at every point of view, every argument for and against each side of the story.
Unfortunately I just can't side with the data in this book. It is flawed, inconclusive and uses 'strawman' tactics to divert the reader away from the hard evidence freely available on the internet. I am not sure whether the author/s of this book have been infiltrated or whether they simply want to keep the public uninformed. I agree that all sides of any story should be argued but after reading this book I am more and more convinced that 9/11 was clearly an inside job. Sorry guys but I am not with you on this occasion.

The offical US government conspiracy about 9/11 is just a silly THEORY and obviously a HUGE criminal LIE

And, of course, the authors of Popular Mechanics turn up regularly on documentaries on the History Channel where they and others
pour scorn on anybody who might have the temerity to suggest that they have got the physics all wrong, that the 2 towers could not
just have collapsed purely from the impact of the planes. The impacts from both planes were at the higher floors; even assuming the
subsequent fires weakened the structure and caused the floors above the impacts to start to fall the weight of the upper floors would
not have been sufficient to result in the catastrophic collapse of the lower floors. Why? Because below the upper floors there were at
least 80 floors with a steel core forming the lift shafts. This structure would have resisted the pressure from the collapse of the upper
floors above the impacts of the planes. At most, 15 - 20 floors, starting to fall from the top could not have caused a catastrophic
collapse of the something like 80 or so floors beneath. It is just not possible. 20 floors collapsing faced with an upward resistance of
80 floors below would grind to a halt after demolishing at best an equal 20 floors below. But that is not what we see from the videos.
Both towers collapse completely in a very short space of time spewing debris, body parts, dust and god knows what over a large part
of Manhattan. Such a collapse has never been known before or since (excepting the collapse of WT7 later in the day which is another
thorny issue). Something else must have been at work. What exactly this was I have no idea. I am very sceptical of the "controlled
demolition" theories and that it was all an inside job. This would have required an extraordinary degree of coordination between the
various agencies involved, including coordination for the supposed explosive devices supposedly secreted on various floors of both
of the 2 towers to explode in a coordinated fashion following the impact of the 2 planes. This would also have required coordination
with the hijackers of the planes because it would be very odd if the conjectured "controlled demolition" started by mistake before the
arrival of the planes. The crash of the planes provided the initial pyrotechnics of the day and obviously had to happen before any subsequent
explosives were set off in the towers to cause their catastrophic collapse, assuming any such explosives were in fact the cause of the
catastrophic collapse of both towers. You have to ask yourself, if the collapse was caused by explosive charges, whether nano-termite
or whatever the "truthers" come up with, who exactly planted all these devices and when? It would have required a massive deployment
of staff to do the job and tons of wiring to rig up all the explosives on all the floors. It just beggars belief that such an operation could
have been implemented and, even more, that not one of the many personnel that would have had to be involved has never come forward
since to admit that such an operation took place, whether motivated by conscience or the thought of making some money from their
revelation or whatever. I don't buy that all the personnel that must have been involved were all frightened by the CIA, FBI, NSA, you name
it, from any of them coming forward to turn whistle blower. What exactly happened on that tragic day will probably never be known. We
still do not know, 50 years later, what exactly happened back in Dallas on 23/11 (another 11) 1963 when JFK was assassinated so the truth
regarding an even more tragic event in relatively recent history will, I suspect, be the subject of controversy for many years to come.
