Well-written book full of insights into what makes a photograph worthwhile,
This review is from: Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision (Voices That Matter) (Paperback)
The author does an excellent job explaining what turns a photograph into more than just a snapshot. There's no abundance of technical information, but I already had the necessary technical background.
The focus is more on using your gut feeling, being patient and aware of your surroundings. Also, although most pictures where taken in some exotic location, the author stresses that the difference between a good picture and one that draws the viewer in and actually makes her feel something, is your attitude towards the subject, not where in the world you happen to be.
Overall, I liked "Within the Frame" alot for showing me the "emotional" side of photography.
