Fascinating page turner,
This review is from: The Midwife's Confession (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a very good read, which kept me turning the pages, the story of three long time friends: Noelle, Tara and Emerson, and how after Noelle's unexpected death a tragic secret is uncovered.
It starts off a little slowly but soon gathers pace as Tara and Emerson find a partially written letter amongst their late friend Noelle's papers. Noelle was a midwife for many years and the letter is a horrifying confession, but to whom they do not know. So they set out to discover what happened and to establish the identity of the mother and baby involved in this terrible secret.
Told from the points of view of several different characters, and flitting back into the past, this is an enthralling book which really gets going and has you racing to the end. It explores the relationships between the three friends, with each other, with their daughters and husbands, and also the heartbreaking story of a fourth woman, whose connection I shall not give away.
Read and enjoy!
