Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Joby Gorillatorch Original Adjustable And Flexible Tripod Flashlight (Electronics)
Bought the gorillatorch to light up under the bonnet when working on the car.
Worked okay for a few weeks, then it started not coming on until the battery
compartment closing mech was fiddled back and forth a bit.
Another few weeks later, the angle of the torch started drifting under the
weight of the torch + 3 x AA cells.
Returned to Amazon, and recived refund.
Just need something similar , but better design / quality.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a less than perfect experience with our product. This is the first time we have ever heard of the issues you experienced, we will be receiving the returned torch from Amazon and will test it to find out what might have been the problem with your unit.

Replacement received, but after 2 months, some of the sockets have split, resulting in floppiness again :-(

Eeh, poor quality puts me off... particularly when it happened again after your contact here with JOBY. Thanks for the review and your latest update.

Well 2 years down the line and lots of super-glued split sockets, to keep some stiffness in the tripod.
Should I expect the life expectancy to be more than 2 years ? I think so, but I suppose it
depends on usage ( I use the torch every 2nd day approx.
Maybe just buy a new one every 2 years.
This is ok with the original version, but I'm not going to part with the £40+ for the blade version
if the tripod mechanicals are the same.
