4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely story. Worth picking up, 17 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Taming an Impossible Rogue (Mass Market Paperback)
Betrothed to Stephen Pollard, the Marquis of Fenton, since birth, yet never having met him, Lady Camille Pryce is hurt that her fiance refuses to spend time with her and instead of marrying him, leaves him standing at the altar, much to her family's dismay, who then disown her. She begins working at the Tantalus Club, run by her female friend. Her jilted fiance is outraged, and has since been publically cruel about Camille, yet demands that she be tamed and made to pay for what she's done. He goes to his cousin, Keating Blackwood, a rake with a bad reputation, to do whatever it takes to get her back to the altar. Keating won't do it for free, so knowing his cousin needs the money, he tells him he will pay him when the job is done.

Keating is shunned from polite society, after murdering the husband of the woman he'd been having an affair with. He needs the funds to pay for the child he made with his former lover, who refuses contact unless he gives her money. Having never met his son since his lover disappeared in disgrace, Keating is adamant his child won't suffer, and does his upmost to get Camille back. But when he spends time with Camille, and he learns why she won't return to her jilted fiance, he has some sympathy for her. He informs her why he's asking her to return, and even mentions the money. Camille likes his honesty, but she has already developed feelings for Keating through their growing friendship, and wonders how she can help him.

Camille is willing to marry Pollard, so she can afford to give Keating the money he needs from her dowry. But there is a twist in the story, which changes everything.

Overall, the book was very good. It's my first book by this author and it won't be the last.
