Pale shadow compared with his previous books,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The World Until Yesterday: What Can We Learn from Traditional Societies? (Hardcover)
This is a pale shadow compared with his previous books which are worth reading.
I'm wondering is it `ghost written' or written to meet a publishing contract?
It's verbose @ 500 pages, the editor should have chopped it to 200/250.
It's boring & some statements wrong. I have read 1/3 & am about to give up.
The photographic plates included are worthless & could be deleted with hardly any detriment.

While agreeing that this is not as good as Diamond's previous books, I do not agree with the detail of what is written here. The book is well-worth a read - an author cannot achieve perfection e very time!
